This is a new section from the blog: Interviews,
I'll be making interviews for new artists (musicians/bands/producers) and (why not) most known artists in the future.
Here's GucciKnuckles, an Underground Hip Hop/Trap Beats producer.
1. Where are you from and how did you started being an artist?
I am from Denver, Colorado, USA. I started making music with my best friend during my first year of high school. We started making dubstep with FL studio and just the basic sounds and synths included with it. After some time I ended up on my own and moved from FL to Ableton live where I began teaching myself how to use the program as well as synthesis.
2. Describe your sound, if you can, tell me some of your influences.
I would best describe my sound right now as experimental trap music. My songs change depending on my mood, sometimes I'll do a slow sad emo trap type beat with some guitar licks. Other times I’ll get some crazy synth sounds going on and make like a Lil Pump/Gucci Mane type beat. Recently I released an EP heavily influenced by artists like Scarlxrd and Ghostemane, so dark sounds and heavy metal guitar riffs. What doesn’t change about my music is the slammin 808’s and rapid fire hi hats and percussion. I’m really big into the underground rap scene right now. I’d say my biggest influences right now include people like lil peep, Ghostemane, Brennan Savage, smrtdeath, Lil Lotus, Fish Narc, Scarlxrd, Josh A, Jakehill, Night Lovell, Lil Pump, Chief Keef and many many more.
3. Is there a local scene in the place where you live? Mention some of your favorite artists from there.
There is a local scene here but I’m not really into it. Awhile back Denver was really into dubstep and general EDM. Lots of raves and a huge club scene. My favorite local guy is a dude that goes by Decadon, to me he is a sample master who has recently released some amazing remixes from artists like Fall Out Boy and Paramore.
4. Have you thought about making live shows? Who would you like to share the same stage with you?
I’ve definitely thought about making live shows, when I first got into making music I really wanted to be an EDM DJ, so those skills are still there. Right now I’d really like to share the stage with some of my favorite producers and dj’s in the underground rap scene. Guys like Nedarb, Fish Narc, Bighead, and Ronny J.
5. What do you think of the music industry nowadays?
I love the music industry right now. Streaming in my opinion has really reignited the industry as a whole. Every time I go on soundcloud or Spotify I hear great new music from all kinds of artists whether it be rappers or producers making beats or edm artists. It’s really great to be an artist right now.
6. What is the best platform to you for sharing music?
For me right now I think YouTube and soundcloud are really great platforms for sharing music. Spotify is also great and I’d like to give a shout-out to Instagram for bringing artists and the fans closer together.
7. Does your artist name has a meaning or a back story?
My artist name does have a back story. A co-worker and I were joking around and he just said it and it hit me how great of a name it would be. I created a new Soundcloud under the name and started putting out the stuff I’d been storing on my hard drive almost immediately. One day I’d love to get a pair of brass knuckles that have Gucci printed on them, all covered in ice of course.
8. Which song do you consider your best work?
I’m honestly really proud of all of my music. I won’t post anything I’m not satisfied with and would listen to myself. If I had to pick one track though I’d have to pick my Denzel Curry - Clout Cobain remix. Denzel and his producers are a huge inspiration to me and I love the way that beat worked with the vocals. Big shout out to those guys.
9. What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I of course make a lot of music. Outside of that though I spend a lot of time with my family. I have a 1 year old son that I love to be with. Teaching him new things and sharing my love of music with him is great. I also try and learn as much as possible, I’m always trying to learn new music making techniques and researching new synths and sound design.
10. I've seen you're a producer, what would be your main advice for people who starts producing music?
My main advice for people just starting in music is to just jump straight in. I mentioned earlier that I’m self taught and I honestly think that’s a great way to begin music. Music is such a pure expression of who you are and what’s inside your head. I think anyone who wants to get into it should just get into YouTube and watch tutorials and try to make the sounds they hear inside themselves. It’ll take awhile to be satisfied with the work but I personally find it worth it just to get something new created. Whether it gets views or not creating new music and participating in the industry is probably the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.

Vintlechkeit / Wintaar - Vintlechkeit / Wintaar (Split - 2019)
Banda/Proyecto Musical: Vintlechkeit & Wintaar
Género: Atmosphetic Black Metal/Ambient
Ubicación: Noruega/Rusia
Website: Vintlechkeit / Wintaar
Tracklist:
1. Vintlechkeit - Norgelandskap
Abruptum - In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo, in Aeternum in Triumpho Tenebraum (1994)
Banda/Proyecto Musical: Abruptum
Género: Atmospheric/Black Metal/Black Noise
Ubicación: Suecia
Website: -
Tracklist:
1. In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo, in Aeternum in Triumpho Tenebraum
