La banda americana de black metal Black Witchery fue formada en el año 1990 bajo el nombre Irreverent. El 1996 cambiaron de nombre a Witchery y 3 años después adoptaron Black Witchery como nombre para evitar confusiones con bandas del mismo nombre.
Black Witchery inició con Impurath (vocals y bajo), Vaz (baterista) y Steve Childers/Tregenda (guitarrista). Tras la muerte de Childers en el 2013, Alal'Xhaasztur ingresó a la banda. La banda también cuenta con James Read quien toma el rol de baterista en shows.
El sonido de Black Witchery puede ser calificado como war black metal y death metal, sus líricas hablan sobre satanismo y ocultismo.
